IGN scooped up a heap of new stills (24) from the upcoming THE STRANGERS that stars Liv Tyler and Scoot Speedman. Written and directed by Bryan Bertino, the story of THE STRANGERS goes something like this: "After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. Fango scooped up the new poster art for Dark Sky Films' PLAGUE TOWN, which is DVD producer David Gregory's directorial debut. The flick is about a group of travelers who wind up in the titular Irish locale, where they’re terrorized by sickness-deformed children. Josslyn DeCrosta, Erica Rhodes, David Lombard, Lindsay Goranson, Elizabeth Bov and James Warke star, and PLAGUE TOWN was penned by Gregory and John Cregan. The film will have its premiere this month at the Cannes Film Festival. Check out the full poster below.

SAUNA is the story of two brothers, who leave a young girl to die and become haunted by her, as she follows them in supernatural form, her face pouring with endless filth. The brothers escape with a commission marking the border between Russia and Finland to a Russian-Orthodox village. In there they find a sauna - The sauna where all sins are washed away. The website for David DeCoteau's new version of Allan Poe's HOUSE OF USHER recently just launched and you can check out the site here. Scripted by Simon Savory, flick stars Frank Mentier, Michael Cardelle, Jaimyse Haft and Jack Carlisle and will play in Los Angeles this Friday, May 9, in Palm Springs May 16 and may play other cities as well. The story of USHER goes something like this: "Victor Reynolds arrives at the notorious House of Usher, whereupon he is greeted by old acquaintances Roderick and Madeline Usher and their servant, Uphoff. As Victor uncovers more about the history of the house and the disappearances of those that entered it previously, he begins to realize that he is in mortal danger." A new trailer and some other stuff has made its way to the MIDNIGHT MOVIE's official site which you can check out here! The flick, directed by Jack Messitt, is slated for a release some time during 2008 and stars Daniel Bonjour, Michael Swan, Arthur Roberts, Dinora Walcott, Rebekah Brandes, Mandel Maughan, Michael Schwartz, Kathryn Aagesen and Greg Cirulnick. Below is the full synopsis for MIDNIGHT MOVIE:

"At a run down theater in a sleepy suburban town, a group of friends get together for a midnight screening of an early 1970s horror film. What they do not know is that the director/star of the film has something more in store for them than just a movie. Rumor says that he was killed in a psych ward massacre five years earlier, but the detective and doctor who witnessed the aftermath of the bloodbath suspect that he was at the heart of the slaughter and might not be dead. What none of them understand is that he has enshrined his soul into the film itself.

As the movie starts, the kids heckle the black-and-white movie, but are jolted when the movies gruesome killer butchers one of their friends on screen! They realize that it is not the prank that they had hoped it was as the killer from the film emerges into the theater to take them out one-by-one. DC is reporting that Joe Lynch, the man behind the awful WRONG TURN 2, will be directing THE BRIDGE which is an adaptation of the eco-horror novel by Craig Spector (who'll also script the flick) and John M. Skipp. The story of THE BRIDGE goes something like this: "When the great storm comes, the good life ends. And hell on Earth begins. For 100 years we've been tossing our toxic waste over our shoulders. No more. This morning, while we slept, something woke up. It's Virulent. Malign. Intelligent. Ambitious. It's in our food, our water, our air. It's inside our bodies themselves. And it's not leaving. We are." More when it happens.

Fango is reporting that CARVER producer Richard Finney has aquired the movie rights to Ray Garton's novella GRAVEN IMAGE which is about an art collector who finds a strange crucifix in a curio shop—one on which the figure of Jesus has been sculpted to look angry and monstrous. After he purchases it, the crucifix begins to have an unholy influence on the lives of Hal and those around him. Finney plans to turn GRAVEN IMAGE into a film franchise with the first film to go into production before the end of 2008.

An eight-week-plus shoot is planned for THE DESCENT 2 and the film will be lensed on Scottish locations and at London's Ealing Studios. Penned by James Watkins (MY LITTLE EYE), the film will be helmed by Jon Harris who worked as an editor on the original Neil Mashall film. Shauna MacDonald and Natalie Mendoza from the first flick will reprise their roles from the first film and the story has her (MacDonald) being coerced to return to the cave system where her friends were slain by subterranean monsters. The cast additionally includes Gavan O'Herlihy, Joshua Dallas, Anna Skellern, Douglas Hodge and Krysten Cummings. Neil Marshall will produce the film along with Christian Colson.

The follow-up is set at Cheatam Studios, a floundering movie company inherited by Kelvin Cheatam, who tries to reverse its fortunes by initiating a bunch of outrageous projects like SPACE SPANKERS 2015, HAMBURGER TIME TRAVELER DETECTIVE and TINY TERRORS 9: PURGATORY OF THE PETITE, the latest in Cheatam’s successful series. Then the resurrected Gingerdead Man invades the place and starts spreading his own brand of chewy mayhem. Sounds like a lot of fun... or not. Penned and helmed by Sylvia St. Croix, this little monster will be available on DVD on June 24.
