Small Town Folk
British horror needs more quality output these days, for every gem ("Lighthouse," "Shaun of the Dead") there are your duds ("Creep") and more often than not, the low budget attempts are in the latter category. So I didn't hold my hopes high for "Small Town Folk." It's a good job that I didn't because it unfortunately wasn't anything new or exciting. It's main mistake is that it bills itself as a horror comedy, but it's just not funny. The jokes are so cringe-worthy that you don't even laugh at how bad they are, and attempts at splat-stick also fail with the gore level only low to medium. This was a shame because the set-up was promising with echoes of a "Wrong Turn" set in England, but whereas the bad guys...

Tomie: Forbidden Fruit
This was also known as TOMIE: THE FINAL CHAPTER when it was released (how very Voorhees), and for a few years it stood as her last appearance, until two more films were made back to back in 2005. Tomie befriends a schoolgirl who's getting bullied. I mean seriously bullied. The bullies are using a crossbow. Tomie visits her new friend, who's coincidentally called Tomie, and lives alone with her father. For a little while, we think that evil Tomie has lost her charm and no longer drives men wild. Then we learn that she's already had an affair with Dad, 25 years earlier. Of course while he's aged, she hasn't changed a bit. She's also rather cross that he's named his daughter after her. As Tomie cosies up to both Dad...

TWILIGHT Trailer
Below you find a trailer for Catherine Hardwicke's vampire flick TWILIGHT that stars Kristin Stweart, Taylor Lautner, Michael Welch, Robert Pattinson, and Justin Chon. The flick is kind of a "romantic" horror flick and the synopsis for it reads: "Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and sent Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right - vampire. But he doesn't have fangs - that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But what will they do when Laurent and James, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for Bella? A modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair - between vampire and mortal." TWILIGHT will see the light of day on December 12.

MIDNIGHT MOVIE Trailer (and packed site)
MIDNIGHT MOVIE Trailer (and packed site)

A new trailer and some other stuff has made its way to the MIDNIGHT MOVIE's official site which you can check out here! The flick, directed by Jack Messitt, is slated for a release some time during 2008 and stars Daniel Bonjour, Michael Swan, Arthur Roberts, Dinora Walcott, Rebekah Brandes, Mandel Maughan, Michael Schwartz, Kathryn Aagesen and Greg Cirulnick. Below is the full synopsis for MIDNIGHT MOVIE:

"At a run down theater in a sleepy suburban town, a group of friends get together for a midnight screening of an early 1970s horror film. What they do not know is that the director/star of the film has something more in store for them than just a movie. Rumor says that he was killed in a psych ward massacre five years earlier, but the detective and doctor who witnessed the aftermath of the bloodbath suspect that he was at the heart of the slaughter and might not be dead. What none of them understand is that he has enshrined his soul into the film itself.

As the movie starts, the kids heckle the black-and-white movie, but are jolted when the movies gruesome killer butchers one of their friends on screen! They realize that it is not the prank that they had hoped it was as the killer from the film emerges into the theater to take them out one-by-one. Caught between the world of reality and the screens flickering shadows, these unsuspecting viewers confront their gruesome fate in the locked theater. Will they be able to overcome the supernatural killer and find their way out before they are pulled into the killers celluloid world?"

Now check out the official site w/ trailer right friggin´ here.
